Spanish gaming platform provider Mediatech Solutions will work with fantasy sports software provider Global Gaming Network on a number of projects in Cambodia's regulated gambling market.
The new partnership will see Mediatech leverage its omni-channel solutions for a number of unspecified initiatives within the country's emerging market, which is focused around providing services for foreign visitors.
Gambling in Cambodia is illegal under the country's Law on Suppression of Gambling, passed in 1996, though this only applies to Cambodian citizens. As the law does not cover foreigners, the country has over 60 land-based casinos generating more than US$34m in taxes last year.
This latest partnership further strengthens Mediatech's presence in regulated and emerging markets, after it signed a deal to provide Dutch land-based operator Fair Play with its IRIS platform to power a new online casino offering in June. It also partnered Austria's SKS365 to power the launch of its PlanetWin365 iGaming brand in Spain.
Its new partner, Global Gaming Network, acts as a liaison between gaming software suppliers, white label solution providers and land-based casinos.
"We are delighted to have entered an agreement with Global Gaming Network to explore a number of projects in Cambodia," Mediatech head of Asia-Pacific Tom Moester said. "We are extremely optimistic about the potential of the market and look forward to combining our omni-channel and Asian know-how with Global Gaming Network's unmatched connections in Cambodia."
Global Gaming Network's managing director, Jonny Ferrari, added: "Cambodia is one of the most exciting emerging gaming markets in the world, and our partnership with Mediatech Solutions will allow us to bring cutting-edge omni-channel technology to the sector for the first time."
