Social casino has quietly become a crucial component of US land-based casinos’ offerings, and their success looks set to shake up the top tier of a sector that once appeared totally closed to newcomers.
In the third quarter of 2015 figures released by Salesforce revealed that cost per install for mobile social casino apps had reached $8.50, almost double the US average CPI of $4.60. This appears to prove fears about the social casino market being restricted to all but the largest operators. The likes of DoubleDown, Playtika, GSN and Big Fish Games rule the roost.
But their continued dominance of the market is far from assured.
