Sweden’s Unibet has reported a 14 per cent increase in gross winnings revenue to £67.6m for the first quarter of 2014, following strong growth from the company’s European operations outside of the Nordic region.

Unibet recorded year-on-year growth across all of its products, except online poker. Excluding currency exchange fluctuations, the company’s total revenue would have risen 21 per cent versus the previous year.

Unibet CEO Henrik Tjärnström said that the strong organic growth, as well as the higher sports betting margin, had resulted in new all-time-highs for Unibet in active customers, revenue, EBITDA and profit after tax.
