Austrian gaming giant NOVOMATIC has set a new sales record for the first six months of 2016, though earnings for the period fell as investments in key verticals and acquisitions were ramped up.

The first half of the year saw NOVOMATIC increase sales by 10.8 per cent versus a year ago, with this growth driven by higher gaming machine revenue. This vertical saw sales rise 11.8 per cent - though no figure for the division was given - with the company currently operating at over 1,600 sites as of June 30th.
