There had been fears amongst poker operators that Italians would desert their PCs in order to follow the World Cup football tournament, and so it turned out, at least for the period when the national team was still in contention. Figures show that spending on poker and skill games in June was down 13% on the previous month, to just under €242m, with those operators more closely linked with sports betting having the largest falls.
