Sweden’s Svenska Spel has become the latest gaming operator
to cancel its proposed dividend as it is forced to temporarily lay off staff in
the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The state-owned company said Tuesday that it has taken the
decision to withdraw its proposed SEK850m dividend (approx. €75m) after
discussions with stakeholders.
Although Sweden has not imposed widespread restrictions on
movement to combat the spread of COVID-19, it has suspended public gatherings
of 50 people or more.
