US gaming device manufacturer Grand Vision Gaming (GVG) has launched the first of its real-money slots to be redeveloped as a social casino game through a partnership with developer Ruby Seven Studios.
Fire and Ice: Evolution is one of GVG’s most popular titles, and has gone live on iOS and Android, and will soon be rolled out on Facebook and for Amazon Kindle.
The company’s partner Tim Carson said the free-to-play launch would significantly enhance game’s entertainment value, offering a more personalised gaming experience.
“Today’s consumers expect to be able to do just about anything and everything from their smart devices, so the opportunity to game on the go is in sync with that trend,” Carson explained.
He added that he was especially excited to further develop the Ruby Seven partnership, which was agreed in March this year.
Ruby Seven has built up a strong user base with free-to-play games including Slots of Plunder, Poker Best in 60 and Big Spin Bingo. It has also secured a $3.5m investment from Chicago-based casino operator Rush Street Gaming and entered into a strategic partnership with Gala Coral subsidiary Coral Interactive.
“It’s been a great ride so far to create a hybrid social casino game with a leading manufacturer of video game devices,” Ruby Seven chief executive Michael Carpenter said of the GVG partnership.
“Fire and Ice: Evolution is the result of our partnership’s first effort that combines our social and mobile publishing know-how with proven real-money game design,” Carpenter continued. “We’re looking forward to expanding Fire and Ice to Facebook, Kindle, and even Windows Phone in the coming months.”
