Stockholm-listed casino games developer NetEnt will expand its portfolio of branded content with the addition of new slots based on Ozzy Osbourne and Conan.

The supplier will develop a new music-themed slot based on Ozzy Osbourne, also known as The Prince of Darkness. Osbourne first rose to prominence with heavy metal band Black Sabbath and has since appeared in reality TV show The Osbournes, alongside his wife Sharon and children Kelly and Jack.

Featuring imagery and vocals from Osbourne, the new game adds to the NetEnt Rocks family of games, which include Guns n’ Roses, Jimi Hendrix and Motörhead.

“Rock stars don’t come much bigger, better known, or charismatic than Ozzy Osbourne,” said NetEnt director of game products Bryan Upton. “Thanks to his larger-than-life personality and outstanding contribution to music, Ozzy has developed a loyal and passionate following over the past 50 years – we can’t wait to bring this to the reels for players to enjoy.”

The deal was brokered by Ozzy Osbourne’s merchandising and brand management partner, Global Merchandising Services.

“NetEnt are the market leaders in their field and we’re incredibly excited to add another of our artists to the exciting NetEnt Rocks family of games,” said Barry Drinkwater, chairman of Global Merchandising Services.

NetEnt also announced Tuesday that it will create a new game based on mythical hero Conan the Barbarian.

The sword and sorcery-themed game further expands NetEnt’s portfolio of branded titles encompassing a range of genres, including Narcos, Vikings, Jumanji, and Planet of the Apes.

“Conan is a character and a brand with a fantastic history and legions of fans all over the world,” said Upton. “We are honoured to be creating our own adaptation of Conan and can’t wait to give him the hallmark NetEnt treatment.”

Shares in NetEnt AB (STO:NET-B) were trading up 1.41 per cent at SEK45.94 per share in Stockholm Wednesday morning.
