The Greek government has given online gaming operators until December 31st to “voluntarily” file tax returns for the year 2010 in order to be allowed to operate in the Greek market during the transitional period before licensing.

The online gaming tax, calculated at 30 per cent of gross gaming revenues derived from Greek citizens, was only proposed earlier this year but the government is seeking to apply it to all revenues earned by EU/EEA based companies since January 1st 2010.
