Brent Beckley, head of payment processing at Absolute Poker, was sentenced Monday to 14 months imprisonment for his role in deceiving banks into processing illegal online gambling transactions.

Beckley was one of 11 individuals indicted in April 2011 on charges of using fraudulent methods to circumvent federal law and deceiving financial institutions into processing online gambling payments. He pled guilty in December 2011 to conspiracy to engage in unlawful internet gambling and conspiracy to commit bank and wire fraud, having voluntarily returned to the United States from Costa Rica to face the charges against him.
