The chairman of the US Senate Committee on Indian Affairs has published a draft federal bill for licensing tribal online gaming which seeks to enable all tribes to participate in the activity and retain tax revenues for tribal purposes.

The Tribal Online Gaming Act of 2012 states that “there is uncertainty about the laws of the United States governing Internet gambling and Internet poker, and Federal legislation is necessary to govern the regulation and licensing of Internet gaming conducted within the United States”.
