Texas police shut down a number of alleged illegal gambling operations over the weekend across Harrison County, Texas.

In a coordinated effort led by the Joint Harrison County Violent Crime and Narcotics Task Force, seven illegal gambling operations were raided and closed.

The illegal gambling was being conducted at the retail stores Poplar Store, Grab & Go, Pony Express Truck Stop, Wanda’s, Wildcat Grocery, Valero, and Skill Games.

Approximately 70 gaming machines were seized during the raids and are now being held as evidence in the ongoing investigation.

Investigators also found narcotics at the illegal gambling venues, which has resulted in additional charges against those arrested.

The Marshall Police Department said: “Law enforcement agencies across Marshall and Harrison County, along with the District Attorney’s Office, remain united in their message: illegal game rooms will not be tolerated. These establishments pose a threat to public safety, and we will continue to hold those who break the law accountable.”

The operation over the weekend follows a raid last week by the Marshall Police Department and Task Force at a Fina gas station, where 10 illegal gaming machines were seized.
