The Massachusetts Attorney General’s Office has sent cease-and-desist letters to two providers of unlicensed online gambling services.
Panama-based operators Betonline.ag and sportsbetting.ag are accused of offering online casino games such as slots, blackjack, roulette, baccarat, and poker, as well as betting on most US sporting events and horse races.
The Attorney General’s Office alleges that both operators actively promote their services to residents of the Bay State despite being unlicensed.
The operators also employ marketing methods that include depictions of professional teams and athletes, as well as collaborations with US sports and entertainment-related content creators.
The cease and desist letters were issued by Assistant Attorney General Louisa Castrucci of the office’s gaming enforcement division.
Both operators have previously faced similar action in Michigan.
