The operators of the affiliate website Casinoscount.nl have each been hit with a €225,000 penalty for promoting unlicensed gambling in the Netherlands.
The penalty payment order from Dutch gambling regulator Kansspelautoriteit (KSA) requires the website’s owners – SBM Holding Group, Sun Block Media Labs 2.0, and JEF Holdings – to cease promoting unlicensed online gambling to players in the Netherlands.
The order applies to all of their affiliate websites and failure to comply will result in a penalty of €75,000 per week on each company, up to a maximum penalty of €225,000.
The Dutch gambling regulator noted that Casinoscout was a legitimate affiliate until being sold in early 2025, at which point the site began promoting unlicensed operators in the Netherlands.
The site was made inaccessible to players in the Netherlands earlier this year after the KSA contacted the Netherlands Internet Domain Registration Foundation (SIDN) to take the website offline. However, subsequent investigations found that the three companies continued to promote unlicensed gambling through Casinoscount.nl and other websites.
