The organiser of the French professional football leagues, the Ligue de Football Professionel (LFP), has launched an investigation into a large number of suspected breaches of its rules by players betting on the sport.
A total of 87 professional footballers are suspected of breaching Article 124 of the general regulations of the country’s governing body for the sport, the Fédérational Française de Football, and regulation 407 of the LFP.
