The body responsible for the process to award Germany’s 20 federal sports betting licences, the Hesse Ministry of the Interior and Sport (HMDIS), has said it expects to issue approvals to operators by the end of September.

A spokesperson for the Ministry told Gaming Intelligence that following the submission of additional information by operators in support of their licence application earlier this year, it has determined that a number have successfully met the minimum requirements to progress to the next stage of the process.
