The UK’s Culture, Media and Sport Committee has launched an inquiry into the role of society lotteries and the potential to relax regulatory requirements regarding the minimum amount of proceeds that are returned to good causes.

The Committee said it intends to examine the role of society lotteries and their place within a system which includes the Health Lottery and the National Lottery, with a view to ensuring that the market delivers the maximum benefit to good causes.
