The Labour Party of New Zealand has published its policy for horse racing in the country, pledging to initiate a crackdown on offshore gambling websites in a bid to safeguard the country’s racing industry.

The party has published its official policy for racing, ahead of New Zealand’s general election in September, highlighting the fact that the local industry is being deprived of funds by offshore gambling operators.

The party’s racing spokesman Ross Robertson described such operators as a major threat to the country’s racing industry.
