Dutch online gaming association Stichting Speel Verantwoord (SSV) has applauded the Eurpean Court of Justice’s (ECJ) ruling that Denmark's different tax rates for online and land-based gambling are compliant with European law.

Last week the ECJ ruled that Denmark’s lower tax rate for iGaming operators is compliant with the European Union’s state aid rules, removing a potential obstacle for the Netherlands, which is to introduce a 20 per cent tax rate for online gaming compared to 29 per cent for land-based gaming.
