An appeal against the decision by the Administrative Court of Wiesbaden to block the Hesse Ministry of Interior and Sport (HMDIS) from issuing Germany’s 20 sports betting licences has been rejected by the state’s Higher Administrative Court, further delaying the conclusion of the licensing process.

A judge at the Higher Administrative Court of Hesse issued ruling 8B 1686/14, which rejected the appeals brought against the Wiesbaden Court’s interim ruling. Ruling 5L 1428/14.WI, issued on September 18th, blocked HMDIS from handing out the official licences just a day before it was due to do so.
