The German Sports Betting Association (DSWV) has recommended that operators cease offering odds on amateur football in the country.

The DSWV voted in favour of the move last week, with association president Mathias Dahms explaining that it wanted to set an example for operators that would help promote discussions with other groups, with no end to the long-running and controversial process to award Germany’s 20 federal sports betting licences in sight.
