Leading Italian operator and service provider Microgame has had a number of brands operating skins on its People’s Network shut down and assets seized as part of a major crackdown on an illegal gambling ring in Italy with links to organised crime.

More than 50 individuals, thought to be members of the Calabrian ‘Ndrangheta, have been arrested for their involvement in a business that was illegally offering online games through CTDs (internet cafes connected to foreign gaming sites), and using this criminal activity to launder money and commit tax fraud.
