The Minister for Racing and Gaming for the Australian Capital Territory (ACT) has hailed a survey which claims gambling expenditure in the state has fallen by 19 per cent since 2009, with the proportion of problem gamblers down to just 0.4 per cent of the adult population.

Minister Joy Burch said it was “pleasing” to see progress being made on reducing gambling harm in the Canberra community.

“However, there is still more work to be done and the ACT Government remains committed to working with our community clubs to protect vulnerable gamblers,” she added.
