The government of the Australian state of New South Wales (NSW) is to launch a major overhaul of the structure of its liquor and gaming regulatory bodies in order to more effectively support harm reduction policies.

The structural reform aims to improve governance of the two sectors to ensure all decision-making and processes are aligned with the state government’s goals. It will establish a new fit-for-purpose regulator, as well as improving transparency, though will not change policy settings for each sector.
