Gaming platform provider Valve Corporation, which is already facing regulatory scrutiny in the United States, has been hit with penalties totalling AUD$3m (€2m) by the Australian Federal Court over breaches of the country's Consumer Law.

Valve has been fined after being found guilty of "making false or misleading representations to consumers" in relation to its game distribution platform Steam.
