The Wyoming Gaming Commission (WGC) has signed a deal with Spectrum Gaming Group to conduct a feasibility study into the future of gaming in the state.

The partnership has been agreed in conjunction with the Wyoming state legislature, whose Joint Appropriations Committee called for a comprehensive review of the state’s gaming landscape.

The statewide study of the gaming industry will include historic horse race wagering, skill-based amusement games, and online sports wagering.

The study aims to spot any gaps within the state’s laws that could be used to exploit the security of players, as well as issues regarding the fairness of gaming activities and state and local licensing procedures.

The committee will also consider whether to legalise online casino gaming, and under what form of regulatory structure and tax system.

This could lead to iGaming legislation being introduced in the 2025 General Session.

Throughout the next month, Spectrum Gaming will examine data and conduct on-site visits to land-based casinos to assess the lay of the land in Wyoming.

The first draft of the report is expected to be ready in early November.
