The US state of Mississippi is set to finally establish its own state lottery after lawmakers in the House narrowly adopted the measure Tuesday.

The bill (SB 2001) was approved by the Senate Monday by a vote of 31 to 17, although the House initially voted against by a margin of 60 to 54, before finally approving the bill Tuesday by a narrow margin of 58 to 55.

The bill is now before Mississippi Governor Phil Bryant for his approval.
