Playtech has struck a deal with anti-fraud and ID verification solutions provider GBG to integrate its solutions onto the supplier's IMS platform, allowing customers to perform instant identity checks on players across all jurisdictions.

GBG’s ID verification solutions allow the supplier and its licensees to check more than 4.3bn individuals worldwide, something it says will help Playtech ensure responsible gaming and support future growth.

Peter Murray, head of gaming at GBG (previously GB Group), said: “In the gaming sector, operators are keen to build an environment of trust that protects both player and business. That starts with the collection and verification of the personal data that gets shared across a player’s lifecycle.

“In the sector, we have seen the uplift in player acceptance rates to be as much as 23 per cent when instant, robust ID verification is embedded into the onboarding process,” Murray said. “And when you factor in all the complexity of trying to match foreign language and address formats, only GBG can really offer a truly global solution.
