Gentoo Media has appointed Mads Haugegaard Albrechtsen as chief financial officer (CFO) and Paul Gatt as general counsel.
This is Albrechtsen’s first move into the gambling sector after three years as a partner at Deloitte Denmark, where he worked with the Gentoo Media team on a number of projects.
Following Albrechtsen’s appointment as CFO, former group CFO Tore Formo moves into the role of company secretary and head of corporate governance.
Mikael Harstad, chairman of the board at Gentoo Media, commented: “With Albrechtsen stepping in as CFO, we are strengthening our financial leadership with a proven expert who already knows Gentoo Media inside out as the next step in the company’s evolution. With this addition, we can ensure closer alignment between finance and daily operations while the company grows.
“At the same time, we are fortunate to retain Tore Formo’s expertise. Tore will now focus on corporate governance, bringing even greater value to the company in this critical area.”
Alongside the appointment of Albrechtsen, Gentoo promoted Paul Gatt to the role of general counsel.
Gatt joined the company in September 2022 when it was known as Gaming Innovation Group (GiG), first serving as legal counsel and then head of legal for the media division in September 2023. Following GiG’s split into two business units, Gatt served as head of legal for the newly formed Gentoo Media.
“Paul has been instrumental in shaping our legal framework during a period of rapid growth and strategic acquisitions,” said Jonas Warrer, CEO of Gentoo Media. “His leadership, legal expertise, and deep understanding of complex regulatory landscapes have been invaluable. We are confident that, as General Counsel, he will continue to steer our legal and compliance strategy with precision and foresight.”
Gatt said of his promotion: “I am thrilled to take on this role at such an exciting time for Gentoo. Having been part of the company’s journey over the past few years, I look forward to continuing to support its growth and working alongside our talented team to navigate the evolving media and regulatory landscape.”
Shares in Gentoo Media Inc (STO:G2M) were trading 0.71 per cent lower at SEK20.85 per share in Stockholm Monday morning.
