Wynn Resorts has nominated former Pinnacle Entertainment chairman and CEO Anthony Sanfilippo as a new director.
Sanfilippo boasts an almost four-decade-long career in gaming and hospitality, having served at the likes of Harrah’s, Everi Holdings and Pinnacle Entertainment in senior executive roles.
He is also a founding partner of Sorelle Capital and serves on the board of directors of food retailer Papa John’s International.
He has been nominated for election at the next annual general meeting of Wynn Resorts, which takes place on April 30.
If elected, Sanfilippo will replace current board member Margaret “Dee Dee” Myers, who has served on the board since 2018 and decided not to seek re-election.
“We are very pleased that Anthony has agreed to stand for election to our Board at this year’s Annual Meeting,” said Wynn Resorts board chair Philip G. Sartre. “Following a record year at Wynn Resorts, both financially and operationally, and with strong stability within our business, we are focusing on our growth and diversification around the world to drive long-term value.
“Our nominating and corporate governance committee could not have found an individual better suited to augment our Board’s expertise as we execute on our strategy – Anthony’s experience in the hospitality and gaming industry is unrivalled. I had the great pleasure of working with him for many years and am confident he will have a significant impact on our board.”
Satre concluded: “We are deeply grateful to Dee Dee for her many contributions over the past seven years. She provided invaluable counsel and leadership as we navigated a difficult time in our company’s history. On behalf of the entire Wynn Resorts Board, I would like to thank Dee Dee for her service.”
