Loterie Romande has elected former Geneva State Councillor François Longchamp as its next president, succeeding Jean-René Fournier.

Longchamp was elected president at the company’s recent annual general meeting and will assume the role on 1 January 2026.

He will replace Fournier, who has served as president of Loterie Romande since 2018 and decided not to seek a third term.

Loterie Romande is the exclusive lottery and sports betting operator in Switzerland’s French speaking cantons.

Longchamp has served on the board of directors of Loterie Romande since 2019, representing the canton of Geneva.

Prior to this, Longchamp had an extensive career in politics, including as state councillor for Geneva from 2005 and 2018.

He has also served on the board of directors of Geneva International Airport, Palexpo SA and Aventinus.
