Evolution-owned live casino provider Ezugi has promoted Gilad Ben-Ami to the role of chief executive officer.

Ben-Ami has served as Ezugi’s chief operating officer since June 2017 and takes over as CEO from Kfir Kugler, who has led the business for more than 13 years.

Kugler, who was recognised in the Gaming Intelligence Hot 50 in 2018 as CEO of Ezugi, also serves as Evolution’s commercial director for Latin America and Africa.

“Stepping into the role of CEO at Ezugi feels like being entrusted with something very special,” said Ben-Ami. “Little did I know where the journey would lead when I started eight years ago, helping to build Ezugi presence in Romania, with a small team working hard to make an impact.

“Fast forward to today, it has been an amazing journey to be part of, and I would like to thank all my colleagues – past and present – who contributed to our success. Ezugi now counts hundreds of employees across regions and continents, and is part of the world’s leading provider of iGaming content.

“It is an honor and big responsibility to take this leadership role. I have learned from the very best, and would like to take this opportunity to express my sincere gratitude to Kfir Kugler – my longtime manager, mentor, and friend.”

Shares in Evolution AB (STO:EVO) were trading marginally higher by 0.22 per cent at SEK822.60 per share in Stockholm Wednesday morning.
