Sports betting solutions provider Betgenius has hired Alonso Jibaja as head of business development for Latin America as it looks to expand its business in the region.

Jibaja joins from BetConstruct, where he spent four years as regional director for South America. He is described by his new employers as having an in-depth understanding of the Latin American gaming market and local operators' specific requirements.

Using this knowledge, he will look to grow Betgenius' client base for its end-to-end sportsbook solution and outsourced trading services.

"The LatAm region presents a huge opportunity for us and I am delighted to welcome someone of Alonso's calibre onto our team to capitalise on that," Betgenius managing director Matt Stephenson commented.
