International Game Technology (IGT) has promoted Nick Khin to the role of president of global gaming after more than a decade with the company.

In his new role, Khin will be responsible for managing the IGT Global Gaming business unit, including studios, technology, sales, games and hardware, as well as manufacturing and services and systems.

Khin has been with IGT for more than a decade, initially joining the company as senior vice president and head of corporate strategy with a focus on IGT’s mergers and acquisitions strategy.

He most recently served as chief operating officer and senior VP of gaming at IGT, with his previous roles including director of the American Gaming Association and CEO of Aristocrat Technologies between 2008 and 2012.

“Nick is the obvious choice to lead IGT Global Gaming. Under his leadership, IGT is consistently releasing top games and strengthening its performance in every game category,” said IGT chief executive Vince Sadusky. “Nick’s knowledge, leadership and passion have earned him the respect of colleagues throughout our industry.”

Shares in International Game Technology plc. (NYSE:IGT) gained 2.34 per cent to close at $21.85 per share in New York Thursday.
