MGM Resorts International has expanded its board of directors with the appointment of former IHG chief executive Keith Barr.
Barr served as chief executive of IHG Hotels & Resorts from 2017 to 2023 and continued to advise the company until his departure in January 2024.
He has also served on the World Travel and Tourism Council, the British American Business Council, and the Women in Hospitality Travel & Leisure board, and currently serves as a member of the board of directors at Yum! Brands.
Alongside his appointment to the board of MGM, Barr has been elected to serve on the board’s audit committee, with additional committee appointments to follow.
“Keith’s tremendous career is a testament to his leadership skills and eye for innovation,” said Paul Salem, chairman of MGM Resorts. “His experience in hotel operations, technology, sales and marketing will be an incredible asset as he offers valuable guidance to MGM Resorts.”

Barr’s appointment expands MGM’s board of directors to 12 members.

Shares in MGM Resorts International (NYSE:MGM) closed 1.92 per cent lower at $38.74 per share in New York Thursday.
