Wynn Resorts has added three key executives to its growing team at Wynn Al Marjan Island, the company’s new integrated casino resort in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
Tom Roelens has been brought in as chief operating officer of the multi-billion dollar integrated resort currently under construction in Ras Al Khaimah, while David Patent has been appointed executive vice president of casino operations.
Sherri DeSalvio has been named vice president of pre-opening planning and strategic initiatives.
All three hospitality and gaming veterans will report to Wynn Al Marjan Island president Max Tappeiner.
Roelens will oversee the integrated resort’s non-gaming operations and brings over 25 years of experience managing ultra-luxury hotel operations, including 20 years with Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts.
Most recently he opened Atlantis The Royal in Dubai and managed operations for Atlantis The Palm and Aquaventure World.
Patent will be responsible for gaming operations and was previously CEO of analytics and business intelligence solutions provider VizExplorer. Prior to that he held senior management roles at three different Caesars Entertainment properties in Las Vegas and the Midwest.
DeSalvio will develop and execute key strategic initiatives in her new role, having begun her career with Wynn began in 2008.
Developed with local partners Marjan and RAK Hospitality Holding, Wynn Al Marjan Island is set to open in 2027 and marks Wynn’s debut in the Middle East and North Africa region.
Shares in Wynn Resorts Ltd (NASDAQ:WYNN) closed 0.25 per cent higher at $76.91 per share in New York Monday.
