Greek gaming operator OPAP has strengthened its senior management team with three promotions and the appointment of a new chief people officer.

The first of the promotions see Jan Karas assume the role of chief commercial officer, having served with the business since January 2014 as chief sales officer with responsibility for OPAP’s stores and indirect sales channels.

Vaios Karantinos, former chief operating officer of OPAP’s Play-branded retail stores, will now serve as chief retail officer and continue as a board member of Hellenic Lotteries. He has been with OPAP since 2014.

The third promotion sees Nancy Verra named chief regulatory and compliance officer after nearly five years with the company as executive director, legal, regulatory and compliance.

OPAP has also brought in Spyros Linaras to serve as its new chief people officer. He joins the operator from Scandinavia’s largest dairy producer Arla Foods, where he served for nearly three years as head of human resources for Germany. Prior to that , Linaras spent 19 years at American multinational food, snack, and beverage corporation PepsiCo.

Shares in OPAP SA (ATH:OPAP) closed down 1.13 per cent at €11.41 per share in Athens Monday.
