The Darts Regulation Authority (DRA) has imposed an eight-year ban on Prakash Jiwa after finding him guilty of match-fixing.
Jiwa has been banned from all Darts Regulation Authority (DRA) events until November 2031 following an investigation which also involved the Gambling Commission’s Sports Betting Intelligence Unit.
Jiwa was found guilty of fixing four darts matches between February and June 2023 and betting on those Premier League darts matches.
He was cleared of the charge of obstructing the DRA’s investigation, which began in May 2024 in response to alerts from the International Betting Integrity Association and an email from experienced darts official and referee George Noble.
Jiwa has been suspended from all DRA events since November 2023.
John Pierce, commission director of enforcement at the British Gambling Commission, said: “All betting customers in Britain should have confidence that bets placed with licensed gambling businesses are on markets that are fair and free from betting-related corruption.
“Our Sports Betting Intelligence Unit works closely with partners such as the Darts Regulation Authority to support sporting integrity investigations and combat match-fixing. This decision sends a clear message that betting-related corruption in sport will not be tolerated.”
