Finland’s national lottery operator Veikkaus has launched a new lottery game which offers players a daily jackpot of €1 million.
The first Milli draw was held last night, marking Veikkaus’ biggest lottery game launch since Eurojackpot in 2012.
The new daily lottery game costs €1 to play and awards the jackpot to players who correctly select six winning numbers, compared to the seven numbers needed to win the traditional Lotto game.
“We have listened carefully to our customers,” said Ville Venojärvi, vice president of lottery products at Veikkaus. “Our customers have wanted an easy game with a sufficiently large jackpot and, of course, more winnings. We are now responding to these wishes with the Milli game, which is drawn daily.
“The familiar seven correct numbers has become ingrained in the minds of Finns, but now in the Milli game the main prize can be won with six correct results. With the new game we expect many new millionaires in Finland.”
The Milli draw is broadcast on MTV3, Finland’s largest commercial television channel, after the Kymmen news program. On Saturdays, the Milli draw is part of the Lotto draw broadcast.
“The new lottery game complements Veikkaus’ game selection and we believe it will fit well among traditional lottery games by bringing customers an easy daily big jackpot game that meets their wishes,” added Venojärvi.
The probability of winning the jackpot is 1:3,838,380.
