The Michigan Gaming Control Board (MGCB) has issued cease-and-desist orders to another eight unlicensed online gaming operators.
The eight sites in the latest crackdown are Aussie Play, CryptoGames, FortuneJack, Hugewin Casino, My Stake Casino, Play at Harry’s Casino, RuneChat, and Slots Garden.
The sites are accused of providing unlicensed gambling to Michigan residents, in breach of the Lawful Internet Gaming Act, the Michigan Gaming Control and Revenue Act, and the Michigan Penal Code.
“These unauthorized websites often appear sophisticated and legitimate, but they operate outside of Michigan law,” said MGCB executive director Henry Williams.
“When players gamble on unlicensed platforms, they’re putting their money and personal information at serious risk. The MGCB will not hesitate to intervene when we find operators ignoring our state’s gambling laws.”
The eight operators have 14 days to withdraw their offerings from the Wolverine State or face legal action.
After this latest round of enforcement action, the regulator has issued cease-and-desist letters to more than 150 illegal online gambling sites this year.
