Britain’s Gambling Commission has commissioned the National Institute of Economic and Social Research (NIESR) to measure the cost of gambling harm.
The research will be funded by penalties imposed on operators by the Gambling Commission and aims to uncover the cost of gambling-related harms for individuals, communities and the wider society, with the findings to be used as part of the ongoing review of the 2005 Gambling Act.
