As the team celebrates its 50th anniversary, the National Football League’s Denver Broncos has launched a new Broncos-themed lottery scratchcard through a partnership with the Colorado Lottery, bringing the total number of NFL teams partnered with state lotteries since the start of the 2009 season to seventeen.

The lottery said that the partnership with the Broncos would give it a chance to introduce new players to its games, while raising valuable dollars to fund important recreational resources such as parks, trails and open spaces state-wide. Approximately 1.8 million scratchcards are to be released.

The new $5 instant ticket launch was announced at a press conference at the Paul D. Bowlen Memorial Broncos Centre earlier this week, with up to $100,000 available to win instantly.

“We’re excited about partnering with the Denver Broncos to offer our players and their fans a chance to win some truly unique prizes,” said Colorado Lottery Director Jack Boehm. “The Broncos have such great brand recognition and have such a long history in Colorado, it make sense to leverage those attributes to benefit the great causes the Lottery supports.”

The new Broncos game also includes a second-chance drawing, allowing players to register non-winning tickets online to win 50 pairs of season tickets for the 2010 season, luxury suite tickets to the Oakland home game in December at INVESCO Field, and tickets for two to an away game during the 2010 season.

“Our partnership with the Colorado Lottery is a unique way for us to connect with our fans and the entire state of Colorado,” said Broncos President and CEO Pat Bowlen. “The Broncos-themed ticket allows fans to show their support for the football team as well as for numerous local recreational areas, including several used for youth football, that receive funding from the Lottery.”

Celebrating their 50th year in 2009, the Denver Broncos have won two Super Bowls and are tied for third in NFL history with six Super Bowl appearances.

Earlier this month the Atlanta Falcons joined forces with the Georgia Lottery to launch branded scratchcards. 17 out of a total 32 NFL teams have now signed up to their respective state lotteries to launch instant win games after rules prohibiting them from doing so were relaxed earlier this year.
