London-listed bookmaker William Hill is set to launch pari-mutuel simulcast wagering in the US state of Iowa in partnership with Caesars.

The new race book at the Horseshoe Council Bluffs Casino will allow racing fans to bet on major thoroughbred, harness and greyhound tracks from around the country, seven days a week.

The race book will be located adjacent to the main casino floor and includes a state-of-the-art sports bar and video wall, and is scheduled to open before the 2017 Kentucky Derby, subject to regulatory approvals and the construction schedule.

Joe Asher, chief executive of William Hill US, commented: "We are excited to expand into Iowa and proud to partner with Caesars Entertainment to bring back pari-mutuel simulcast wagering to the Horseshoe Council Bluffs Casino. We look forward to creating a first-class experience for all racing fans in the Greater Omaha area to enjoy."

The venue ceased offering pari-mutuel wagering in late 2015 as a result of the closure of Bluffs Run, the dog racing track which had operated the race book adjacent to the casino.

Bo Guidry, senior vice president and general manager of Horseshoe Council Bluffs, said: "William Hill has an excellent reputation and we are excited to welcome them to Iowa and partner to bring a new amenity that will bring even more energy to the Horseshoe Casino floor."
