US Lottery and gaming supplier Scientific Games has completed an integrated lottery gaming system conversion for the Maine State Lottery, launching an updated solution featuring its SciPlay online lottery and an internet-based player subscription platform.
The agreement sees the supplier provide the Maine Lottery with its Cooperative Services Program, integrating instant game operations, game design and production, marketing services, warehouse management, inventory control and retail distribution.
The new system also features Scientific Games' SciPlay interactive technology, an internet-based player-subscription platform that makes the Lottery’s draw games available to adult players across the state, as well as a “VIP” website.
The conversion was completed ahead of schedule as part of a six-year agreement for an integrated gaming system for instant and draw games, signed in January this year.
“We are proud to continue our collaboration with the Maine State Lottery,” said Pat McHugh, President, North America Lottery Systems for Scientific Games. “In the more than three decades that we have been their trusted partner, the Lottery’s revenue has experienced continued growth.
“Our focus is aligned with the Lottery’s mission to responsibly maximize revenue growth to generate additional funds for the state and the local businesses that depend on lottery sales," he added.
Gregory Mineo, Director of the Maine Bureau of Alcoholic Beverages and Lottery Operations said that “through collaboration and careful planning with our longtime partner, Scientific Games, the technology conversion was a success and the Maine State Lottery is poised and well-positioned for continued growth.
“With the new retailer equipment, the player subscription program and the instant product category management services provided through the CSP program, we can focus on driving maximum sales and profits for the State of Maine.”
In fiscal year 2013, the Maine State Lottery had total sales of more than $230 million, of which more than $166 million was generated from instant game sales.
Last week Scientific Games announced the extension of another instant game supply agreement with the Delaware Lottery, and plans for several state lotteries to launch its new game based on the HASBRO board game, the Monopoly Millionaire’s Club.
