Fanatics Betting and Gaming has soft launched its new retail and online sports betting offering in Connecticut, marking the ninth state launch for the Fanatics Sportsbook.

Now serving as the Connecticut Lottery Corporation’s (CLC) exclusive sports betting partner for mobile and retail channels, the Fanatics Sportsbook will this week accept 2,000 online customers ahead of its full launch on Monday 18 December.

The operator will also be upgrading ten CT Lottery-run retail locations with new signage, enhanced odds screens and new self-service betting kiosks from Suzohapp.

The lottery will offer sports wagering under the Fanatics Sportsbook brand at Arooga’s Grille House & Sports Bar in Shelton, the XL Center in Hartford, and at all locations operated by its Connecticut-based partner, Sportech.

This includes the Bobby V’s Restaurant & Sports Bar locations in Stamford and Windsor Locks; Sports Haven in New Haven; and the Winners locations in Hartford, Manchester, Waterbury, New Britain and Milford.

This brings an end to Rush Street Interactive’s PlaySugarHouse Sportsbook brand in Connecticut, having entered into an exclusive ten-year deal in August 2021.

All existing wagers placed via PlaySugarHouse’s online accounts or at retail for events occurring prior to 12 February 2024 remain valid, and will be settled in the normal fashion once the event is completed.

Wagers for future events occurring on 12 February or later will be voided and the funds returned to players. Players can re-wager those refunds on the same sporting event on the new sportsbook if they choose to, or simply receive the cash refund.
