Hosting solutions provider Internet Vikings is entering Connecticut’s regulated online gaming market.

Internet Vikings has secured license approval as an online gaming service provider, enabling it to serve operators in Connecticut, the company’s 24th US state.

“As the Connecticut market experiences significant growth, there’s a clear opportunity for additional service providers,” said Kristoffer Ottosson, chief operating officer at Internet Vikings.

“Obtaining our license as an online gaming service provider enables us to contribute to this expanding sector and capitalize on its potential.”

Connecticut’s regulated sports betting and online gaming market generated total wagers of $1.45 billion in January 2024, the latest month for which figures are available.

The total represents a 33 per cent increase on the same month last year and resulted in gross win of $66.3 million, a rise of 39 per cent year-on-year.

Rickard Vikström, CEO and founder of Internet Vikings, commented: “I’m impressed with our team’s speed in securing the Connecticut license within a month from the signing of the agreement with the customer. Looking ahead to 2024, we’re set to expand our reach into additional states to continue meeting the needs of the industry.”
