Jelly Entertainment has brought in industry veteran Steven Matsell to serve as the company’s new chief executive officer.

Matsell brings more than two decades of industry experience to the games developer, having held C-level positions at RAW iGaming and Leander Games.

Matsell assumes the role from David Newstead, who has served as CEO since July 2020 and now moves over to chief business development officer.

“It’s been an honour to watch Jelly grow into a globally recognised B2B supplier,” said Newstead. “Now feels like the right time to step aside, and I’m confident the company is in great hands with Steven.”

Commenting on his new role, Matsell said: “Stepping into this role excites me, and I’m inspired by the talented team around me. My goal is to build on the strong foundation David established, accelerating growth and new market expansion while upholding our commitment to service, relationships, and values.

“David has been key in building Jelly into what it is today. His determination and resilience have driven much of our success, and his move to chief business development officer will allow him to focus on his true strength, developing new business opportunities and nurturing international partnerships.”

Matsell’s appointment follows the recent appointments of Silvio Insigne as chief financial officer, Kim Eaglestone as chief operating officer, and Salvador Lima as chief commercial officer.
