Hamburg-based online lottery provider ZEAL Network has promoted Andrea Behrendt to the role of chief financial officer (CFO).

Behrendt will take over as CFO on 1 April, succeeding ZEAL board member Sebastian Bielski, who is leaving the company after nearly two years to pursue a new challenge.

Behrendt has been at ZEAL since July 2015, most recently serving as vice president of group controlling & portfolio management, as well as CFO of ZEAL subsidiary LOTTO24.

“We are delighted to welcome Andrea Behrendt as a member of the ZEAL Management Board,” said Peter Steiner, chairman of the Supervisory Board of ZEAL. “With her deep financial and long-standing industry expertise, she brings excellent qualifications to support ZEAL in the next phase of growth.

“On behalf of the Supervisory Board, we would like to thank Sebastian Bielski for his exceptional commitment and his significant contribution to the positive development of the company.”

Commenting on her promotion, Behrendt said: “I would like to thank the Supervisory Board for the trust they have placed in me and look forward to the opportunity to help shape the future of ZEAL with my colleagues on the Management Board and the entire team.”

To ensure a smooth transition, Bielski will complete the current annual report before Behrendt takes over at the beginning of April.

Shares in ZEAL Network SE (FRA:TIMA) were trading 0.24 per cent lower at €41.50 per share in Frankfurt Tuesday morning.
