VIP Play is set to expand its ZenSports brand into West Virginia after securing an interim licence for sports wagering and iGaming in the Mountain State.
The interim licence approval follows a market access deal with Delaware North’s Wheeling Island Casino, enabling VIP Play to expand into its second US state and launch iGaming for the first time.
“The acquisition of our interim Sports Wagering and iGaming License in West Virginia marks a significant milestone in our journey to expand, underscoring our commitment to provide innovative experiences to a wider audience,” said VIP Play CEO and chairman Bruce Cassidy. “As we grow our presence, our dedication to excellence stands firm, and we’re excited to play a role in enriching West Virginia’s dynamic gaming community.
ZenSports went live with its mobile sportsbook in Tennessee in August 2023, powered by Kambi and White Hat Gaming, which will also power the operator’s West Virginia launch.
West Virginia sports and iGaming wagers increased by 43 per cent to $699.5 million in February, with wagering on iGaming growing by 46 per cent to $661.3 million and sports betting wagers climbing 2 per cent to $38.2 million.
