Delasport vice president of business development Rosaire Galea Cavallaro explains how the company is set to deliver the next big innovation in sports betting.

Sports betting has transformed dramatically over the past few years, shaped by personalization, real-time player engagement, unmatched retention… Delasport has been at the forefront, consistently reshaping how players interact with sportsbooks throughout the years.

Now, on the brink of something groundbreaking, it’s time to look back at the main phases of evolution of this field in order to better understand why the time has come for a next era and how Delasport will deliver it once again.

THE RISE OF PERSONALIZATION

In the past few years, technology marked significant development. So did online sports betting. Around 2022, it became clear that personalization is going to be THE thing. In the sea of same, operators had to go beyond content and at Delasport we don’t just talk innovation.

Delasport anticipated this shift early and introduced a suite of pioneering features that set the new standard. We deliver it. This is what we did at the time, starting our personalization initiative with a trend-setting feature.

Personal Trader

While other sportsbooks were focused on scooping every league out there and seeking a deeper relationship with players, our team made sure that bettors had a real person to negotiate odds with. The so-called ‘Personal Trader’ not only led to higher player satisfaction and engagement, but also higher revenues.

Some operators decided to provide this feature only to their most valued players as yet another token of appreciation. Others chose to offer it to everyone, turning one-time visitors into loyal players.

‘Personal Trader’ was a hit.

And what’s more important: it marked the beginning of ‘My Era’.

IfBet

Next in the innovative feature suite came IfBet in February of 2023. IfBet allowed bettors to connect multiple single bets with just one stake, letting them effectively automate several sequential bets. If their first selection loses, they lose the stake and the rest of the underlining Ifbets are cancelled – but if it wins, the system will continue to make the next bet automatically, using the original stake, or if preferred, with a multiply option with the winnings stacked on.

This gave players an exciting new way to play and to do it just how they like it.

My Sportsbook

The innovations continued throughout the whole 2023 and in July we introduced ‘My Sportsbook’ – the best way to let players customize their home screen with the sports, leagues, and teams they like to bet on. No fluff, no time-wasting. My Sportsbook became in iGaming what Netflix is for home entertainment – a hub with each user’s personal preferences.

The result?

Over 70% of sports bettors interact with ‘My Sportsbook’ and after they do so, it only takes 6 seconds before they place a bet next time they log in.

My Event Builder

2023 continued strong with Delasport introducing ‘My Event Builder’ – a truly unique personalization feature allowing players to create betting events that wouldn’t be possible in real life. They were based on real sports data but let bettors put any team or athlete against any other of the same discipline, based on their preferences and knowledge.

My Combo

In early 2024 we announced the next step in our personalization campaign: My Combo. Combo bets are way more lucrative than singles and ‘My Combo’ made them even more accessible and intuitive for players, saving them time from browsing.

The feature generates suggestions for combo bets based on the player’s history, offering 5 combo bets they can place in an instant. Both sides loved it and it has been one of the most used functionalities ever since.

THE TIME OF PLAYER ENGAGEMENT

By March of 2024, sports bettors were starting to see personalization as a given, almost a commodity. To keep them entertained, a new approach was required. This is why we started focusing on more innovative ways to engage, thus – retain them.

Engagement Suite

At that time, we had already “tested the waters” of engagement through missions, tournaments, mini-games, and more. We saw the great results but knew we could make it even better.

This is when our in-house real-time player engagement suite was conceived. Since its launch it has set new industry standards for responsiveness, engagement, and player satisfaction.

Combo Booster

Mid-2024 brought Combo Booster – yet another engagement champion, incentivizing players to choose combo bets over single ones through a multiplier. It requires players to place 3 or more pre-match selections to see how their potential payout grows.

This made them eager to try their luck and knowledge in longer combo chains than ever before.

Double My Winnings

Around October of 2024, a feature called ‘Double My Winnings’ was launched. The fun intuitive mini-game of penalty shots allowed bettors to double their recent winning or – if the gods of RNG don’t work in their favor – lose it all.

Combo Insurance

With so many incentives to place combo bets players now needed some certainty in order to stay consistent and engaged. Enter: Combo Insurance.

This feature brought a much-needed blanket of safety for many since it allowed for lower-risk combo bets. For example, when missing by one leg, the bettor could get up to 50% of their wager back if the active Combo Insurance campaign was focused on this.

SuperPot

When talking about sports betting innovation, we can’t miss SuperPot. Delasport introduced this unique sports jackpot product mid-2025 and nothing has been the same since.

SuperPot not only allows for mixing sports and markets, but it also offers a ‘Standings’ tab where participants can see how their tickets are doing compared to the rest. Add to this the fact that SuperPot provides a ‘sure-win’ mechanic and it comes as no surprise that it’s been making waves across Ontario and the UK in the last several months.

THE NEXT STEP IN EVOLUTION
